This Privacy Policy explains how Finance-Pedia.com (https://finance-pedia.com/, the “Website”, “we”, “us”) handles information about its visitors. Finance-Pedia.com is a glossary of terms used in finance, forex, CFD trading and cryptocurrencies.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
You do not need to register to use the Website. If you write to us through our contact form, we collect your name, your email address and the content of your message, together with a record that you agreed to this policy.
Information collected automatically
When you visit the Website, our servers and the services described in section 3 receive technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device and operating system, the page you came from, the pages you view and the date and time of your visit.
2. How we use information
- To reply to your messages and keep a record of our correspondence
- To operate the Website, keep it secure and prevent spam and abuse
- To understand how the Website is used and to improve the glossary
- To show advertising that helps fund the Website
3. Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small files stored in your browser. The Website uses the following:
- Cookie consent: when you choose “Accept All” or “Essential Only” in the cookie banner, your choice is saved in a cookie (butilikecookies) for 365 days so that the banner is not shown again.
- Analytics: Google Analytics (Google LLC) measures how visitors use the Website, for example which pages are viewed. Jetpack (Automattic Inc.) also collects statistics about visits.
- Advertising: the Website shows ads through Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this and other sites on the Internet.
- Security and delivery: the Website is delivered through Cloudflare, which may set cookies that are needed to protect the Website from malicious traffic.
You can turn off personalised advertising by Google in Google Ads Settings (https://adssettings.google.com/) and learn how Google uses information from websites that use its services at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. The Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on (https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout) stops Google Analytics from using data about your visits. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, although some parts of the Website may not work as intended.
4. Links to other websites
Glossary entries may link to websites we work with, such as FXCodex.com and Hercules.Finance, and to financial service providers. Some of these links are referral links, and we may receive a commission if you open an account through them. When you visit another website, that website’s own privacy policy applies.
5. Sharing of information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with service providers that help us run the Website (hosting, content delivery and security, analytics, advertising, and the tools we use to receive and manage messages), or when we are required to do so by law. Some of these providers process data outside your country, including in the United States, under their own privacy policies.
6. How long we keep information
We keep messages sent through the contact form for as long as we need them to reply and to keep a record of our correspondence, and then delete them. Analytics and advertising data are kept according to the settings and policies of the service providers.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask us for access to, correction or deletion of your personal information, to object to or restrict its use, and to withdraw your consent at any time. To make a request, please use our contact form. If you live in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
8. Children
The Website is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last changed.
10. Contact
If you have questions about this policy or about your personal information, please contact us through our contact form.
