Definitions

GTC stands for “Good Till Cancelled”. A GTC order is an order to buy or sell at a set price that stays active until it is filled or the trader cancels it.

Unlike a day order, a GTC order does not expire at the end of the trading day, although some brokers close open orders after a certain period.
