Asset Allocation

Definitions

Asset allocation is an investment strategy that divides a portfolio among different asset classes, such as stocks, bonds, currencies and cash.

The aim is to balance risk and return. When one asset class falls, others may hold their value, which reduces the impact on the whole portfolio.
